8.31.07 Tune into the LITHIUM channel on SIRIUS this weekend to hear Vaden Todd Lewis of the Burden Brothers & Toadies guest DJing!!
8.16.07 Burden Brothers win best Hard Rock in Dallas Observer Music Awards."When former Toadies frontman Todd Lewis and former Reverend Horton Heat drummer Taz Bentley decided to merge their angst, neither could have imagined how quickly their new band would entrench itself in the musical consciousness of Dallas. Live, Burden Brothers have created a buzz not heard around these parts since, well, the Toadies' halcyon days. When they play the Granada, the line stretches seemingly to Fair Park and the shows become cathartic celebrations, linking fans of disparate ages in a communal sauna of familiarity and fury. The day after a Burden Brothers performance, once the hangover subsides, fans are never too far off claiming they've seen the best band in Dallas." —D.S. Dallas Observer

4.13.07 - Burden Brothers have just completed a new video for, “Shine” the second single from Mercy. The song, a testimony to the inherent push and shove of relationships, is an unrelenting rocker with something for everyone who likes their music loud and fast. Chaotic and no-holds-barred, the band performs in front of a blood red backdrop. As they move through the song, an amalgam of a riot ensues around them. Director Travis Kopach says of the video concept, “I had been working on three other videos and was about two weeks late on sleep. Somewhere in between naps and daydreams I saw a mob of angry people so upset they had turned permanently red. The world around them was also red and I watched as they bleed all over one another.” “We're in a band. Our lives are chaos. So yeah, I can relate. It's just another day at the office,” reflects guitarist Corey Rozzoni. Watch the video here

3.7.07 - The Hourly Radio’s new Deaf Ears video. Asiel Norton’s darkly humorous clip is about missed connections and the refusal to engage. The band plays in the living room of a creepy old house, delivering their narrative to the camera. Another young man stalks these frames, too – and although he seems hell-bent on ending his own life, the musicians behave as if he isn’t even there. The main character tries to do himself in with rope, a pistol, and anything else he can find, but Closson and the rest of The Hourly Radio sip tea and ignore him. This could have been rendered in slapstick, but it’s to Norton’s credit that the tone of the “Deaf Ears” clip is more disturbed than satirical. Pictures of Sigmund Freud and Richard Nixon may hang on the walls of the house, and the suicidal man may be fleeing from a father figure, but his story isn’t pathetic: it’s downright macabre, unsettling, weirdly fascinating. So creepy, it's cool.
